In recent months Calvary Church has experienced amazing growth. For every number that's recognized or recorded, a life is represented. And that's what it's all about. Lives are being touched and changed. People are experiencing freedom, restoration, and spiritual growth. God is up to something...something incredible.
Calvary Church has a simple mission statement: REACH. We reach up [loving God], reach in [serving each other], and reach out [changing the world]. For the month of April we are calling on the Calvary Church family to reach out like never before! We are asking that people perform random acts of kindness to neighbors, co-workers, and strangers. And to invite them to experience Calvary Church, the perfect church for people who aren't perfect.
Executive Pastor, Ben Dailey, is raising the bar. To show his passion for 'the reach' he has made a commitment [it might just be his craziest yet.]
"This might be cheesy, but what can I say? I am passionate about the church getting out and being the church, not just within our walls, but outside of them as well. It's time for the church to get out of the box and let our world know that we serve a great God and have fun doing it." - Ben Dailey
If Calvary Church breaks the 4,000 attendance barrier Sunday, April 12th and Sunday, April 19th Ben will sacrifice all the comforts of common daily life, make his way to the roof of Calvary Church, overlooking Highway 161, and reside in a 'roomy' 6x6x6 foot plexi-glass box for three days and nights. He will enter the box on April 26th at 7:00pm and exit the box April 29th at 7:00pm.
Well....IT HAPPENED!
The goal was smashed. On Sunday, April 12th, over 5,000 people attended Calvary Church and on April 19th more than 4,000 people attended. In addition, hundreds of people made life-changing decisions for Christ!
So...what now? Ben's going in the box! But, you may be asking, "What's the point?" There is more to the story than a cheesy idea achieved. At this moment, 1,500 people are mobilizing to get out of the box. Beginning Sunday evening at 7pm, April 26th, Ben will go in the box, but Calvary will be getting out of theirs...it's something we like to call the 'Big Dozen.' The Calvary Church community will mobilize 12 groups over the 3 nights that Ben is in the box to reach our community. Here is your chance to get out of the box. Set your TiVo, haul yourself off the couch and be a part of the 'Big Dozen.'
